HerStory, Our Future Project Officially Launched in Portugal
20/03/2026
The kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project HerStory, Our Future took place in Portugal, bringing together partner organisations from Spain, Italy, Serbia, and Portugal for the first in-person meeting of the consortium.
Hosted by Contextos, the meeting marked the official start of the project and provided an opportunity for partners to discuss the project’s vision, objectives, and implementation plan for the next 24 months.
During the meeting, representatives from Universidad de Extremadura and Wazo Coop (Spain), Beecom (Italy), Mladi Ambasadori – Young Ambassadors (Serbia), and Contextos (Portugal) exchanged ideas and coordinated the first activities of the project. The partners reviewed the project timeline, defined responsibilities across work packages, and established a shared strategy to ensure effective collaboration throughout the project.
HerStory, Our Future aims to empower young people aged 18–30 to become advocates for gender equality through digital storytelling, training programmes, and youth-led community campaigns. A key focus of the project will be documenting and amplifying inspiring women’s stories across Europe, using media and storytelling as tools to promote awareness and social change.
Over the next two years, the consortium will work together to develop educational resources, produce mini-documentaries, and organise training activities that support youth in building advocacy skills and promoting gender equality within their communities.
The kick-off meeting also allowed partners to strengthen cooperation, align communication strategies, and plan the first research and storytelling activities that will shape the project’s future outputs.
The project consortium looks forward to the upcoming phases of the project and to working together to amplify women’s voices and empower a new generation of young advocates across Europe.
